After surviving a tragedy in the Civil War, Cal Wayne returns home to find his former sweetheart engaged to marry the brother of the man he killed. He decides to take the role of sheriff to appease his feelings of guilt. But soon enough, he is forced into a showdown with an outlaw who has blazed a path of chaos everywhere he goes, putting honor, loyalty and redemption to the test.
