Melding a giddying range of tones with aplomb, Ratchapoom Boonbunchachoke’s one-of-a-kind debut feature is doggedly political, loopily cerebral, and deeply affecting—and has style to spare. Another success story of Thailand’s recent cinematic boom, this fascinating film won the Grand Prix at Cannes.
